The path to (junior) programming! Update 1

So, I've gone with Unity Learn and the Junior Programmer module -with abundant hope, I should already know a fair bit of the stuff, but rather than skip parts of it and fail, let's go through the whole shebang, shall we?
Well, it's easy enough to get into: lots of video stuff, all very visual. The starting teacher is amusingly energetic, very "Hey youths, I'm cool and full of beans so listen to me!" vibe, with some grinnable moments, for sure.
Although, none as amusing as loading up the first prototype, for:

Already an error! How is that even possible, I haven't done anything! Apparently one of them is a memory leak, need to clear the cache, possibly...
Ok, thankfully it just disappeared upon re-loading. Here's hoping it was but a red herring.
Now, the assets given are solid and the process is going just as solidly through the steps...perhaps a bit too densely, though.
Maybe it's looking at this with 9-5 after-work vibes, but I certainly felt snoozy during the set-up and basic controls step.
True, this is aimed at those who have never (ever) used Unity, but it was rather thorough, and accompanied by an irritating "now what you have to do is" 30-60 seconds assist at the end of each video recapping what he just literally said two seconds ago, which I quickly began skipping.
Yet, I learned that:
1) pressing F when something is selected focuses the view on it.
2) w, e, r, t and y are shortcuts to the various select tools.
3) There are layout presets you can use to modify your, well, layout.
True, these do sound like rather basic things, but it just proves that even what seems obvious can yeld unexpected insights -and, how little I know of all the possibilities.
Next up, coding!
Your drowsy developer,
Stefano Ronchi
